Portrait of a Scientist
miracles still occur
in this ever more calculable world
for instance a man struck down
by a wasting disease and forced
to live in wheelchair a man
unable to talk
(and he breathes through a valve)
a man who cannot move more
than two fingers of one hand
a brain of demonic power and two thin fingers
TALKING in a synthetic voice
the human wreck of a genius
who calculates the unimaginable
sees back to the beginning of the Cosmos
and denies the existence of God
..........................................
As for God
(lets face it, a singularity)
He does not deny him
the right to deny
Translated by Clive Wilmer and George Gömöri
